I took photos on the street. Can I post them on my blog if people are visible & recognizable in the pics?

And if so, may I make comments – both good & bad – about the people in the pics? Don’t tell me that you don’t know and that I should ask a lawyer just to get "Answer" points. I want to know if someone really knows the answer. Thank you in advance.

You can certainly post the pictures on your blog. It is your "right" as the copyright owner of the shots to publish them.

However, be very careful with the captions. If you put any captions which could be classed as libelous or defamatory then you can get done by the individuals for that.

Are conservatives turning on Liz Cheney?

The backlash is growing against Liz Cheney after she demonized Department of Justice attorneys as terrorist sympathizers for their past legal work defending Gitmo detainees — and now it’s coming from within deeply conservative legal circles.

On Friday, the conservative blog Power Line put up a post titled, "An Attack That Goes Too Far." Author Paul Mirengoff, called Cheney’s effort to brand DoJ officials the "Al Qaeda 7," "vicious" and "unfounded" even if it was right to criticize defense lawyers for voluntarily doing work on behalf of Gitmo detainees.

Reached on the phone, Mirengoff offered an even sharper rebuke, contrasting what Cheney is doing to the anti-communist crusades launched by Sen. Joseph McCarthy and, in some respects, finding it worse.

"It could be worse than some of the assertions made by McCarthy, depending on some of the validity of those assertions," Mirengoff said, explaining that at least McCarthy was correct in pinpointing individuals as communist sympathizers. "It is just baseless to suggest that [these DoJ officials] share al Qaeda values… they didn’t actually say it but I think it was a fair implication of what they were saying."

I saw briefly what Cheney said on the Rachel Maddow show. I hope they see her attacks as baseless. The problem is that her irresponsible beliefs/comments are taken seriously by many.** PS Mary Cheney is a lesbian, not that it should be mentioned, but some have said in answering that Liz is a lesbian.

[ HD ] Barely legal video blog – Is it ok to talk about Flex in public….

Ask the Adobe ones 31 : In a video question an Adobe fan afraid to potentially break the law wants to know how to keep his blog all legit. Can Kush’s evil rap cousin handle this one?

Links:

(click “I agree” to see page. That page alone is not the guidlines!)

Transcript:

Yo! This is your man, K to the U to the S H H, A K A extra H. XH!! Now is the time I’m gonna show yuall a barely legal video question. Yhea!!

When I say a barely legal video question I mean a video question that is sort of a legal question but sort of not. What were you thinking ahh! Aright lets roll the clip baby.

Cheers Fabian. I’m glad you are being careful with legalities like that unlike me extra H. Damn, why did I end up hosting this episode? Do I look like the most reliable source of legal advice? Oh well, lucky for you my man I got lawyers on my speed dial. Not that I have so many legal issue to deal with I just have issues period! Not just issues a subscription you know what I’m saying.

Arright! Let me call up an Adobe lawyer. Yo whazaup … no I’m not in any kind of trouble, I’m gonna forward a video question to you and I wanna know what you have to say about that!

Yhea.. uhuh.. damn.. no Shit! .. chea .. word up, peace man!

Arright, our lawyers say first of all we like people to blog and talk about Adobe products so don’t be afraid! Just make sure you follow the Trade mark guidelines on this web site. He also said not to use any trademark words in the URL of your site if the blog is in fact about an Adobe product. For example. The KushFlexblog.org is not cool if its a blog about Adobe Flex. Its fine if the KushFlexblog.org happens to be a blog about flexing muscles and bodybuilding. I swear the lawyers came up with that joke. I just don’t want to be guilty of joke infringement you know what I’m sayin.

That’s just for the web site address. You can use the product names in the Name of your blog as long as it is not used referentially – what ever that means. Like Fabian’s Flex Blog is not cool. But Fabian’s Blog about Adobe Flex is tight with our lawyers.

You can use the product names while talking about it all you want and if you call it Adobe Flex instead of just Flex the first time you introduce the word, I think our lawyers would dig that.

I’m sure you can find a lot more legal stuff to read on adobe.com and you could contact the corporate folks from there if you have any more questions.

Come to think of it, its much better to clarify these things before you start your thing like my man Fabian did.

All gravy, that’s all the legal stuff I can take for today. If you have an issue that’s bugging you like an 808 in the middle of the night axe it on a video and send it to this e-mail address or leave a comment or what ever.

Peace out!

I… K to the U to the Al akmed extra H solemnly swear to convey this information accurately, to accurately convey this information what? huh? you are confusing me man! yea I know it’s frustrating he just said help me God. Oh I’m supposed to repeat that too?

Blog 36 – A new beginning

You see, this time I didn’t keep you waiting!

This is one of two blogs about settling back in. Only this time, settling in involves me helping my mum move out!

My mum has retired from law and is renting out the family house to travel the world and be free. So Gabi and I head back down to my hometown of Farnham in Surrey to help her.

In terms of filming – I do still have a bit left to film, and then editing can begin!! :-)

This track is cut to one of my increasingly favourite bands, CENTERCOURSE – a track called Albatross – that I have already used in my ‘Blog 27 – Into the Wild’ blog, but a track that deserves it’s own send-up.

Please head over to www.centercourse.net and have a listen.

You will also find them on Blog 30 – Waterfall.
