Legal Advice: What to do when previous employer falsely represent you?
A company I used to work for 7 months ago is still using my name on their phone system & is still telling customers I’m responsible for works I have no dealings with. Could someone give me some sound legal advice on how to get them to stop using my name/repretation falsely? I’ve wrote them letters & left phone messages for someone to call me about this matter so it can be resolved, but they refuse.
You need a solicitor to write a letter to your previous employers. They are obviously not listening to you. The solicitors would write a letter simply stating that they should stop using your name or they would take legal action. That would scare them into action.

Rumors of the "birther" movement’s death appear to have been greatly exaggerated. The group has been demanding for months that President Obama produce a "valid" birth certificate to prove he’s a natural-born citizen of the United States – and it’s not giving up just yet. A Christian website called LivePrayer.com produced an infomercial that the United States Justice Foundation organization is set to air in seven Southern states. Highlights can be seen here:
Led by Bill Keller, a born-again Christian once convicted of insider trading on Wall Street, LivePrayer.com is working with an attorney, Gary Kreep, from the Ramona, California-based United States Justice Foundation, to air the production, titled "Where Was Obama Born?" in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and Florida. The half-hour program implores President Obama to reveal the details of his birth, which they say is something that the president has "vigorously fought," and asks viewers to send in a $30 donation. In doing so, donors are told that they’ll receive a "Got a birth certificate" bumper sticker, in addition to having a fax bearing their name and demanding President Obama to produce a birth certificate sent to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and the 50 state attorneys general. Kreep told Talking Points Memo that the recent airings of the spot have produced "something like 1,500 to 2,000 faxes" so far.
Predictably, the efforts of Keller and Kreep have provoked colorful reactions from some critics. Last night on her show, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow derided the infomercial as something one would expect to be produced if the "birthers" and the creators of Wayne’s World had "collaborated on an art project," while Crooks and Liars labeled the spot as being positively P.T. Barnum-esque, noting that the minimal production costs involved in creating the infomercial combined with the low cost of airtime in rural markets ($100 for each airing in Lubbock, Texas), make for a potentially lucrative venture. Not to be outdone, New York Magazine’s Daily Intel weighed in with its own harsh review.
While some continue to express bewilderment over the fact that anyone could doubt the legitimacy of the documentation already provided by President Obama, particularly after the State of Hawaii confirmed its authenticity, a recent Public Policy Polling poll reports that 42 percent of Republicans believe Obama was born outside of the United States, indicating a not-negligible potential audience for the efforts of LivePrayer.com and the United States Justice Foundation.

The real question is why don’t they just produce the ORIGINAL documents and shut these people up for good?
Why block all access to early record and college papers? No other President has ever done that.
If they have nothing to hide, then quit hiding!
I am not a birther but I’m, just sick of this crap. Produce the originals and shut them up or admit he wasn’t born here and move on. It’s not like they are going to redo the election and put McCain in office if they find out Barry is not a Native American. Congress will pass some law to allow him to serve out his term.

I live in MD. I just turned 18 and I don’t have a learners permit for driving. It will take me 9 months exactly to be able to drive on my own. I need a license sooner because I am getting a job at a blog/magazine company which requires me to get around. I need to drop out of High school and skip college basically because i’m 2 years back and I can’t go to college because my parents never enrolled me in a school until I was 14. I want to go to court and ask if I may be granted a license Atleast after one month of getting my learners permit and practicing driving. Is this possible and under what classification would this be?
There’s also alot more that my parent’s have done that I could use in court as a reason for getting my license sooner.
If you are 18 and you can pass the written and driving test you can get your license, if you need driving time have a friend take you into the country and practice until you can pass the test. This article will give you some info on it.~
Five new state laws placed restrictions on teenage drivers in Maryland, effective as of October 1, 2005. These new driving laws in Maryland apply to all drivers under age 18, regardless of when they received their learner’s permit or provisional driver’s license. These new teen driving restrictions were designed in response to an increase in teen car crashes and are expected to give teens more experience driving with fewer distractions.
The laws are as follows:
• A new driver must hold a learner’s permit for at least 6 months before applying for a provisional license. (This is an increase from 4 months)
• A new driver must complete at least 60 hours of driving practice with someone at least age 21 who has held a driver’s license for 3 years or more. (This is an increase from a minimum of 40 hours)
• At least 10 of the practice driving hours must occur at night.
• Drivers under the age of 18 are prohibited from talking on cell phones while driving.
• For the first 5 months with a provisional license, drivers under the age of 18 are prohibited from driving other minors unless they are direct family members or accompanied by an adult.
In October 2008, the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration will begin notifying the parents or guardians of a minor who receives a citation for any moving violation. Also a minor will be required to obtain a learner’s permit before they get behind the wheel, even under the supervision of a driving instructor. The permit validation date will be extended and can be valid for up to two years after the date of issuance. ~~

the diff between libel and slander is the former is in permanent form like written or printing while the latter is in temporary like speech or gesture.

Attorneys general from 13 states penned the top two Democrats in Congress Wednesday requesting they remove extra Medicaid funds directed toward Nebraska.
The attorneys general, all Republicans, say that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) tacked on extra Medicare funds to the Senate bill to buy the vote of holdout centrist Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) on healthcare legislation.
The state officials, led by South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster, say that the provision is unconstitutional and ask that Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) remove it as to avoid a lawsuit.

can you blog hard and make phone calls and chat it up to clean them out. when in doubt throw the rascal out! don’t need doctors and lawyers and such, we need some trades people like joe the plumber to go to congress. they have staffs of lawyers and cpas and economists. just need somebody who doesn’t show such a damn craving for more gold and glory. they gotta go!
