I went to an Attorney in Las Vegas to modify my loan. They did the same thing you said you do. I paid them $3000 up front. 6 months later, I received a notice of default. I am losing my home because of this law firm that I paid to modify my loan. I am thinking that it is all a scam now.

Truth in Lending …
Truth in Lending violations “apparent on the face” are applicable against loan assignee investors. A right to rescind must be respected if the owner can tender. That is what we look for. It like saying you won’t ask a beautiful woman to dance because most of the time they will reject you. We fight for the house and are having very good results. Thanks for the comments.

There is no scam. Sometimes no matter what the banks cannot do anything because they’ve sold your loan to an investor e.g., hedge fund, pension plan or foreign government and many times it is non-negotiable unless you intend to go into court to challenge that fact that you’re breaching a contract by not making payments. A modification of any agreement usually means additional consideration. Many times the audits don’t amount to much.
