why can libel be consider as a crime? is blog entry libel or slander?
im talking about singapore law btw.
the diff between libel and slander is the former is in permanent form like written or printing while the latter is in temporary like speech or gesture.
so is it correct to say that blog entry is libel?
and libel and slander are both under defamation which is tort law. why is it that libel can sometimes be considered as a crime when it only like tarnish one’s reputation? is there any examples?
…in the act of tarnishing one other’s reputation, one may also entice others’ to act upon some implied situation of "other’s" that causes further pain and suffering upon the life, property and general saftey of said "other’s’ person, property or ability to live a normal life
….what part of that is difficult to understand?
…yes, written form of communication includes ‘blogs’
….however, in a blog scenario, who is the ‘other’ person subjected too…a group of international thieves?
or perhaps a local gang of combatants?….
….really, in a blog scene, who knows what person read and ‘believed’ what they read?hmmmm?
…..are you guilty of some expressive opinion of some other, in a blog?
…..or are you feeling victimized by others due to some written information obtained from a blog….that mentions you personally?…or theoretically? by name?
by any other identifiable characterisitic?
…..in a court of law, the burdeon of proof rests upon the victim to ‘establish’ the viability of the charges…..after that, present the proof, the details that may be measured, and thusly a judge or jury may havesome evidence to consider….
…..this sounds harsh but i hope you can find peace within the facts

If it’s presented to the public as fact. Blogs, or web logs, would be considered and opinion wouldn’t it though?

libel is a form of FRAUD & can be a lot more damaging than to "tarnish one’s reputation" False statements have gotten many people KILLED ! e.g, the use of "propaganda" in war time .
