If you are in a profession where your reputation is paramount, what things can you not blog about?

If you are in a proffesion like a Lawyer where your reputation is very important, and you want to post videos on youtube (i put a blog in the question title because "vlogging" isnt as common as blogging) and in these videos you talk about politics, religion, ethics, morals, and discuss controversial subjects and you express your opinions about them etc, then where do draw the line for the things you shouldnt talk about???

Ofcourse I am assuming that my videos WILL be seen by my clients/associates etc, as the videos can be seen by anyone.

Are there things that you shouldnt release into public??
Or maybe it shouldnt matter, and people will respect them as your opinions???

(DOnt worry Im not about to admit to the world that im involved in criminal behaviour or admit im a murderer or paedophile etc, because im not one)

Use common sense. Don’t put anything anywhere on the web (or in email) that you wouldn’t want plastered all over the front page of a newspaper, now or in the future, especially if you later want to go into politics.

  • Sooth Sayer:

Rule of Thumb: Don’t blog, vlog, email anything on any subject that could come back to bite you in the a_ _ unless you don’t mind losing part or all of it.
