Hello friend, Yes you can sue her but if she is in texas you would have to go to texas. So, figure your travel time and expenses. I know your docs are important but are replaceable. You would most surely win but you would at best break even due to your expenses. But if there is sentimental value then go for it. I have been in your shoes. Hope this helps…

I think that the judge would give you the benefit of the doubt, and if she tries to lie to him, then she could very well dig her own grave. Just because she denies it doesn’t mean the judge will believe her. But you’ll have to sue her in Texas, and that means going there to court.

I’m not at all a legal expert, but if she has $5000 of your property and refuses to return it, I’m sure that’s violating some law. Especially seeing as she has your birth certificate and SS card. I would definitely get in touch with a lawyer and see if there’s any legal action that can be taken.
